Ethicon VICRYL RAPIDE® (polyglactin 910) is a fast-absorbing, sterile, synthetic absorbable suture with a coated braided structure for smooth tissue passage and secure knot tying. It is absorbed by hydrolysis, with rapid strength loss intended for wounds that do not require prolonged support. Absorption is typically complete by ~42 days, and the suture begins to “fall off” in about 7–10 days in many skin closures, helping avoid routine stitch removal in appropriate cases.
